Sarah Jones' Obituary
Sarah was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Sue and Keith Ashcraft on December 14, 1977. This tiny green-eyed, blonde-haired bundle was also greeted into the family by her sister Leah. Sarah grew to be an energetic, independent child with varied interests. She especially loved animals, so it was no surprise that when she wanted a bunny, she gifted one to her mother for Easter! Sarah loved her mother, but it was no secret that she was a "daddy's girl." When Leah and her mom wanted, perhaps, to go out for dinner, they would send Sarah to ask her dad because he couldn't say "no" to her. Sarah attended a small private Christian school where she made friends easily, life-long friends who partied together, shared dreams, and made the effort to keep in touch. Sarah played the piano. She was a cheerleader. She was creative and loved to write stories.
Sarah was a graduate of the University of Arkansas (BA). She became a dedicated Razorback fan and could call those hogs with enthusiasm! She taught her kids to carry on the tradition. Sarah studied interior design but ultimately decided to focus her career on child psychology. She earned her PhD from Tulsa University and eventually opened her own successful clinic, Tulsa Children's Development Center.
Sarah had four children: Garrett (20), Harper (13), Ellarie (12), and Matigan (8). She attended Battle Creek Church in Broken Arrow. Sarah was a faithful Christian and follower of Jesus Christ. She was a devoted mother who led by example to instill her values into the lives of her children.
Sarah was Doctor Jones to those who knew her professionally, She was mom to her children, daughter to her mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was a problem-solver, always ready to help a friend in need. Sarah battled cancer for years with a quiet resolve. In the midst of adversity, she clung to her faith in God. Today, she is in the arms of her heavenly father, reunited with her dad and those who have gone before. We will miss her, but we rejoice in the fact that we will see her again.
Her forty-seven years on earth were brief. When we join her, it will be for an eternity.
Sarah is preceded in death by her beloved father Keith Ashcraft, her maternal grandparents Laverne and Ed Barnett, her paternal grandparents Hazel and Vearl Ashcraft, and nephew Patrick McCarver.
Sarah is survived by her children Garrett, Harper, Ellarie, and Matigan, her mother Sue Lewis, Stepfather Chuck Lewis, her sister Leah McCarver (Barry), niece Emily McCarver, and nephew Chase McCarver.
Memorial services will be held Friday, June 20, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Battle Creek Church (3025 N Aspen Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012)
