Sarah Elizabeth McGrath's Obituary
Sarah Elizabeth McGrath
1957 ~ 2025
Sarah Elizabeth McGrath, 68, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, November 13th, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on April 5, 1957, in Tulsa to John and Linda Schuler, and from the very beginning she brought warmth, joy, and kindness into the world.
Sarah spent many of her childhood days with her grandparents, creating memories filled with laughter, curiosity, and adventure. In her youth, she loved playing tennis and swimming. As she grew, Sarah discovered the role she cherished above all others: being a mother. She adored her children and later her grandchildren, celebrating every milestone, offering endless support, and loving them with her full and tender heart.
A true nurturer, Sarah found peace and happiness in her garden, tending to flowers and fresh vegetables with the same care she gave to the people in her life. She loved visiting farmers’ markets, decorating her home for every holiday, and doting on her beloved fur babies, who were always by her side.
Sarah had a gift for making others feel welcomed and cared for. Her heart was beautiful and generous; she was always available to anyone in need, ready with a listening ear, a helping hand, or her unforgettable, contagious laughter. To her family, she was their mama bear, their best friend, and the strongest woman they knew.
A loving mother and wife, protector of her children, who would lay her life down for them at any cost to ensure their safety and joy in this life. She came from humble beginnings, always having compassion and feeling the pain as if it was her own of those less fortunate, hurt, or struggling. Her love could move mountains. Though she struggled with her own faults and inequities, her love will pass on through her children and family. God molded her to be a fighter and through his love, she fought till the end, through the grace and strength of Christ. Now our wildflower dances in the wind, eternally at peace in heaven watching over us, cheering us on with shouts of love and prayer.
She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband John McGrath, son John Paul Walenciak and wife Abby, daughter Rachel McGrath, son Jesse McGrath, sister Cynthia Davis, grandchild Camren Walenciak, along with numerous friends and loved ones.
Sarah always had a beautiful heart. She was loving and would be there for anyone who needed comfort. Her laughter was contagious; she was quick and witty. But most would agree she was a firecracker and the strongest lady we know. Her warm embracing hugs will be missed. You will forever be our mama bear and best friend.
“We chose not to lose our mom, and instead to gain an angel. She is still in our hearts, our minds, and our life! – and still as wise, compassionate, and stubborn as ever.”
- Kevin Hart
