Scott Barrett's Obituary
Scott Barrett, aged 65, a resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on July 8, 2023. Born on July 1, 1958, in Dalhart, Texas, he was the beloved son of James and MaeBelle Barrett.
Scott began his journey of service by joining the U.S. Navy, where he fearlessly served his country during Operation Desert Shield. His dedication and commitment earned him an honorable discharge. After his time in the military, Scott embarked on a career with the United States Postal Service as a Business Mail Technician, where his meticulous attention to detail and sharp intellect shone brightly.
Known for his keen intellect, Scott had a remarkable ability to retain knowledge and collected various publications, including magazines and catalogs, reflecting his thirst for information. He also obtained a Federal Firearms License which authorized him to engage in the business of manufacturing, sales, and importation of firearms and ammunition.
Scott possessed an unwavering awareness of his surroundings and remained well-informed about current events. His vigilant nature allowed him to stay attuned to the world around him. From an early age, he found joy in the thrill of riding motorcycles, and in 2006, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by purchasing a Honda VTX1300 Cruiser, which became his trusted companion on countless memorable journeys.
Unyielding in his convictions, Scott was known for his strong will and outspoken opinions. His firm stance on matters exemplified his principled character. In his leisure time, he relished the company of his loved ones, finding immense joy in the moments shared with family and friends.
Scott's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His memory will forever be treasured by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to have crossed paths with this remarkable individual. May he rest in eternal peace, forever riding free on the open roads of our memories.
Scott was preceded in passing by his father, James Sidney Barrett. He is survived by his mother, MaeBelle Barrett; his wife, Martha Barrett; his son, Spencer Barrett; son, Steven Barrett, and his wife, Kat; daughter, Angel Gunther; six grandchildren; his brother, Gleyn Barrett and his wife, Loydene; brother, Justin Barrett and his partner, Jim Richie, brother, Daniel Barrett and his wife, Mary, and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be 3-5 pm, Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 am, Monday, July 17, 2023, at Floral Haven Chapel
Graveside will be at 1:30 pm, Monday, July 2023 at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery
