Shane Golden's Obituary
Shane Travis Golden, 23, of Broken Arrow was born July 30, 1996 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Mike and Amy Golden. He passed away May 14, 2020.
Shane cherished spending time with his family and friends. He loved the Lord and was baptized by his grandfather at Evergreen Baptist Church. He also loved to discuss the Bible with his maternal grandparents. Shane really enjoyed discussing politics and was the first to strike up a debate; it was like a sport for him. He made spending time in the gym a priority in his life. He obtained his Certified Personal Training Certification so that he could use his love of fitness to help others. Being outdoors fishing and hiking were also some of his favorite past times. After graduating from Broken Arrow High School in 2015 he went into the United States Marine Corp. He graduated boot camp in the fall with honors. He concluded his military career with the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Meritorious Mast and Expert Rifle Qualification Badge.
Shane is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Connie Green. He is survived by his parents, Amy and Craig Cartwright and Michael and Noel Golden, twin sister Sarah Golden and brother Jacob Golden all of Broken Arrow; maternal grandparents Roger and Pat Benton of Tulsa; paternal grandparents Bill and Pam Golden of Claremore; maternal aunts and uncle, Susan Ashpaugh, Janet Benton and Jon Benton; paternal aunts Veronica Fogal, Angelina Green, Rachel Lunsford, Ralynda Rozell, Rosa Sowder; and many cousins whom he loved dearly.
