Shane Lynn Simpson's Obituary
Shane Lynn Simpson September 17, 1959-December 9, 2014 Shane Lynn Simpson had a heart the size of Texas and an attitude to match. Her smile could fill a room and one look of disapproval could silence one. Born in Wilmington, Ohio on September 17, 1959 to Elzie Earl Edwards and Barbara Ann Andrews, Shane was a spitfire from the beginning. She was an older sister to brothers Doug Lovett, Scott Edwards and Rodney Dowdy, and even left one of one of them in a cornfield when she felt that it was appropriate. In 1979, Shane graduated from East Central high school in Tulsa, OK. Married to Jeffery Michael Simpson for 25 years, she was a devoted mother to daughters Cara and Mackenzie. Her daughters were the love of her life and she would often say “I love you to the moon and back.” Shane remained self-employed and worked from home to spend time with her girls for many years. As a dedicated mother to Cara and Mackenzie, her arms were open to their closest friends as well and she was affectionately known by all as “Momma Shane.” In March of 2011, Shane was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. She fought a courageous battle for almost four years and went to heaven at the age of 55 to be with her loving Savior on December 9, 2014. Her father, Elzie Earl Edwards and grandfather Robert James Fields, lovingly known as “Papaw,” were waiting for her at heaven’s gates. She is survived by her daughters, Mackenzie Simpson, 24, Cara Dodson, 32, their father, Jeffrey Michael Simpson, mother Barbara Ann Andrews, step-father John Andrews, in-laws, Sam and Donna Simpson and sister-in-law Jill and husband David Loganbill. Shane Lynn Simpson lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She is to be forever remembered, never forgotten. When the lights go out and all is still and silent, her words forever remain, “I love you to the moon and back.”Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 14th, Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Arrow.
