On March 7, 2017, Shannon married the love of her life, Bryant Stevenson, in Claremore, Oklahoma. Together, they shared 17 wonderful years, with this March marking what would have been their eighth wedding anniversary. Their greatest joy was raising their two beautiful daughters, Elizabeth Mitchell and Cheyenne Stevenson. Shannon was also a proud and loving grandmother to Brynlee Mitchell.
Shannon had a heart of gold and was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to others. Her true passion was education, and she found immense fulfillment in teaching and nurturing children. As a devoted daycare provider, she single-handedly cared for and educated up to seven children all at once, preparing them so well that they were able to skip Pre-K and enter kindergarten ahead of their peers. Even as she bravely faced her illness, Shannon continued her work, demonstrating incredible strength and perseverance.
In addition to her daycare work, Shannon was a licensed Certified Medication Aide (CMA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and cosmetologist. She was a dedicated student who pursued her education with enthusiasm, graduating from East Central High School before earning various degrees and certifications from Tulsa Technology Center, Tulsa Community College, and Oklahoma State University.
Shannon is survived by her loving husband, Bryant Stevenson; daughters, Elizabeth Mitchell and Cheyenne Stevenson; cherished granddaughter, Brynlee Mitchell; mother, Kim Leigh Hopper-Southern; brothers, Zac Hopper, Jon and Jennifer Hopper, and Trey Drought; sister, Kassadie and Jesse Beeler; grandfather, Floyd "Pop" Zinn; great-aunt and uncle, Rejeana and Ron Barker; in-laws, Joy and Gary Stevenson; and brother-in-laws, Jeremy Stevenson and Chad Stevenson.
