Miss Shari will always hold a special place in our hearts. My children Troy and Kyndall adored her. They loved going to her preschool and I loved picking them up at the end of the day and talking to Shari. She had a God given gift that will be so missed here on earth. God has a special new angel. When I called Mary Palmer to tell her Shari had passed away, she burst into tears. She was always so good to me she said, Every Christmas she would come and put up a tree for me, the white rose ladies were loved by Shari! She served them lunch but it was more than that, she organized a service project for them to do , also wanting to make them feel useful. They made favors to be placed on the food trays for meals on wheels. Shari loved theml and they loved her. Shari also each year used to put together teacher appreciation baskets, and would alow me to help deliver them to the schools in the community, it was a treat to be a part of this tradition, the administrators would look up and smile and exclaim how wonderful they were! Shari had a way of bringing out the better part of us, she inspired us to do what was needed, and to love more. She was a fine lady. Pam O'Dell
Aunt Shari I'm so glad you called me last year and we talked for two hours while I waited in the airport for Cole to get back from his dad's funeral. The amazing person you are, you called concerned about their loss. I can still hear your voice from then and from all the many times you were there for me like a second mom over the years. You were so excited when I went to BYU. You showed up at my door so many times with gifts for my kids. When we were there in 2013 you gave Aleise that chocolate colored stuffed puppy and lit up her world. You always did that. Always. I don't like a world that doesn't have you in it. I told you what a miracle you were overcoming so much with health challenges. When I got sick with fibromyalgia you were on the phone to me several times telling me of treatments you had heard of. You sent me a magazine article even. I wish I would have called you more often. It's just you seemed invincible and I thought you'd always be there. I still hear your comforting voice when I got pneumonia and you let me come and live with you in my early 20s. You are such a caring mom. I know you are up there and watching over your children as you always did, with all your heart and might. I am counting on seeing you again and laughing at all the funny things that happened in our family over the years on this earth. We had some wonderful times together. I love you.
To the Casper Family:Words cannot express our deep admiration of and sincere appreciation for Shari's consecrated life of love, service, generosity. During the near 25 years we have known her and Bill, we have witnessed her Divinely directed care of pre-school children, her angelic service among her family, Church circles and her neighbors. Even during periods of her own fatigue and illness, she reached out in her typical poise of rendering her Christlike service.Despite their many high, even leadership, callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Shari and Bill carried no ostentation or reservation in their outreach to their Mormons and to non-Mormons. They served together, heart to heart, hand in hand. They have quietly and genuinely served Howard's parents, including his rather rebellious stepfather for years in our absence. Never announcing it, never expecting returns, they just did it. I am sure we will never know in this life the entirety of the countless calls of checking on them, of Shari's homemade treats to them.Shari's passing has been such a shock to us that we still can barely believe it. Our hearts, even souls, remain very heavy in our sharing of your grief. Yet, knowing Heavenly Father as we do, we cannot help but believe that her work on this demanding planet called earth is done. She has earned her "wings" to progress in a more holy sphere with her ancestors and with her God. She has earned her Eternal Felicity of rest, of joy, of glory.We will continue to miss our beautiful example of an Elect LDS Lady until we, too, are privy and prepared enough to cross through the threshold of Eternal Life, to embraced with our Savior, even Jesus the Christ.
