Sharon McCready's Obituary
Sharon Kay (Weixelbaum) McCready, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 71 on February 27, 2026, at her home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Born May 20, 1954, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Sharon had a kind heart and welcoming smile which made even the simplest moments feel special.
She especially loved the color pink, a reflection of the softness and warmth she carried throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. Sharon is survived by her husband, Mark; her children: Kim McCready of Flowery Branch, GA; Michelle (Cory) Donham of Wichita, KS; Angela (Clint) Bohannon of Beggs; Melodie (Andy) Updike of Broken Arrow; Carrie (Derek) Sparks of Tulsa; and Lindsey Shobe of Sapulpa.
She is also survived by her siblings, Freddie and Wanda; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. An avid crocheter, Sharon always had a project in hand. She lovingly created doilies, blankets, baby clothes and booties for her grandchildren. Sharon will be deeply missed; her love and legacy will live on in the family she cherished.
A casual gathering to celebrate Sharon's life will be held Friday, March 6, 2026, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at Floral Haven, 6500 S. 129th E. Ave., Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012. Family and friends are invited to stop by, share memories, and honor her life. In remembrance of Sharon and her love of pink, guests are encouraged to wear something pink if they wish.
