Born in Shawnee, Oklahoma and died at Saint Francis Hospital, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jolene attended Lindsey elementary, Monroe junior high and McLean high school, graduating in 1973. She attended
OU in Norman her freshman year then transferred to the University of Tulsa in 1974 to begin her study in nursing.
She graduated in 1977 with a bachelors degree in nursing. And went on to complete her masters in nursing at OU
Health Science Center in 1985. Jolene was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority.
Jolene first worked as a pharmacy tech at Hillcrest and then Jolene was hired by Nat Torkelson to be a nurse aide on
the sixth floor Cardiology unit during her nursing school years. Jolene was licensed as an RN in 1977. She went on
to work in Cardiac Rehab, Nuclear cardiology/stress testing and finally research for Hillcrest Medical Center with a
specialty in cardiology and cardiovascular research. She also was adjunct faculty for Oral Roberts university nursing
program. She retired from Hillcrest in June 2019.
Jolene attended First Presbyterian Church downtown Tulsa for many years as well as Christ Episcopal Church @for
the last 10 years.
Her parents were Herman Reedy (1930 to 2008) and Sandra Eidson Reedy (1934 to 2015)
Mr. Reedy worked with airplanes and Ms Sandra had her first professional job at Hillcrest Medical Center
business office. She later went on to be an administrator at Cancer Care Associate with Saint Francis. She was a
Hillcrest volunteer in retirement.
Jolene is remembered by many friends, family including Aunt Tyn and colleagues. She is survived by her brother
John Reedy and his wife Coby, niece Jennifer Moss and great nephew Liam.
Her sister Margarita Moss proceeded her in death in 2002
Her Shih Tzu dog Oreo was adopted by uncle Tim.
Jolene’s early years was filled with family, friends and adventures. She had a beautiful smile and a great laugh. She
enjoyed travel throughout her professional position as well as personal adventures. Pre-Covid many summers were
spent in Europe. She read books on many coast, including the Florida and Hawaii beaches. She was a gracious
hostess and a loving auntie too many young people. She loved to shop and she loved to give gifts. And she was a
Pollyanna about a lot of life situations finding the best in people. She was our sister by choice and always a strong
ally.
We deeply appreciate all the heartfelt expressions of kindness and sympathy upon the death of our dear sister by
choice Jolene. Her beautiful spirit, engaging smile and warm presence will be miss forever
