Sherrye "Suzy" Hood's Obituary
Sherrye Sue "Suzy" Hood, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, transitioned to eternal peace on March 9, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on May 24, 1951, in Rogers, Arkansas, to Virgil and Dellia Foster, she embarked on a journey marked by love, laughter, and cherished memories.
At the tender age of 15, Suzy met Norman Hood, who would become the anchor of her life's voyage. A year following her and Norman’s marriage, they welcomed their first child, and only daughter, then grew to add two wonderful boys. Together, they embarked on a journey that spanned decades and created a legacy of love and togetherness. Their move to Oklahoma in 1969 marked the beginning of a life rich with family, friendship, and community.
Suzy’s nurturing spirit and boundless love knew no bounds. As a devoted wife and mother, she poured her heart into her family, nurturing their bonds with unwavering care and affection. Her home was a haven of warmth and laughter, where every visitor was embraced as a friend.
A pillar of support to her husband Norman, Suzy played an integral role in maintaining their family business, infusing it with her trademark sense of humor and goodwill. Her genuine laughter and playful antics brought joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In the tapestry of her life, Suzy’s greatest joy was found in her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished all her grandchildren, eager to envelop them in her boundless affection. And in recent days, she eagerly anticipated the upcoming birth of their newest addition, granddaughter Seanna.
Suzy is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Virgil and Dellia Foster, whose love and guidance illuminated her path. She leaves behind her devoted husband Norman; her children Mary Lynn Hood-Commer and husband Andy, Allen Dale Hood and wife Susie, and Jerry Lee Hood and wife Terra; her grandchildren Molly, Amy, Adam, Joshua, Nikki, Vanessa, Jaylee, and Ivy; her brother Ron Foster; and a host of cherished family members and friends whose lives she touched with grace and kindness.
As we bid farewell to a remarkable soul, we gather to celebrate Suzy's life and legacy on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Floral Haven Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. May her spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, as she is now her family’s dearest guardian angel, forever cherished and never forgotten.
