Shirlene Billie McInturf's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shirlene “Mac” Billie
McInturf, a devoted and compassionate nurse of 40 years, who dedicated her
life to serving others. She was born in Ketchum, OK on 12/9/1940 and passed
away peacefully at her home in Tulsa on 5/31/2025 at the age of 84.
Shirlene graduated from Bacone College with her Associate of Arts in Nursing
in 1969 and was licensed the same year as an RN. During her 40-year
career, Shirlene worked at several hospitals in the area and retired from the
Cancer Treatment Center where she worked in pain management. She was
recognized numerous times over the years and was particularly proud of
being awarded the Employee of the Year from CTC in 1997.
She touched countless lives, always putting others’ needs ahead of her own,
before caring for herself. A natural, gifted and hard-working healer. Beyond
her professional accomplishments, Shirlene was a loving partner, daughter,
sister and aunt, with a heart full of warmth and generosity. She found joy in
working with the Boy Scouts of America where she was awarded the White
Feather Award in 1988, spending time with family, playing any kind of game,
woodworking, crafts, reading and cooking.
The pain of her passing will fade and the fond memories we hold is what we
will cherish and recall. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved
her. After a lifetime of caring for others, may she now rest in peace.
Shirlene is survived by her sisters Patricia Boone and Starla Khezri, her
brother Lloyd Haff, nephew Armean Khezri, and nieces Sarah (Ricky) Griffin,
Brooke (Jack) Curley and Stacey (John) Head. She was preceded in death by
her life partner Helen Bishop, her mother Josephine Haff and her father Coy
McInturf.
Shirlene requested that there not be a memorial service and the family
requests that any donations be made to her favorite nonprofit, Amvets in her
memory. Shirlene will be interred in Fairview Cemetery, Vinita, OK.
