Shirley A. Geriets Kirksey's Obituary
Shirley Kirksey, founder of Shirley’s Employment Service and resident of Prattville, Oklahoma passed February 15, 2020 at the age of 84 from a brief illness.
She is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Angie Caves, brother Roland Caves.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband Jack Kirksey of nine years. Daughter, Vicki Eklund and husband Bob Eklund of Prattville, Oklahoma. Son, Gary Valentine and wife Julie Valentine of Osage, Oklahoma. Daughter, Stacy Pierce and husband Clay Pierce of Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Brother Joel (Jerry) Caves of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sister, Carol Maegle of Houston, TX. Seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Shirley was born on September 4, 1935 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She graduated from Webster High School in 1953. She attended The University of Tulsa. She later worked at Apollo Rubber Company and Davis Painting and Drywall Company. In 1974 she founded Shirley’s Employment Service and sold her business just a few months before her death. Shirley’s Employment Service was a truly great love and a source of true joy. One of her final words was that it was “Fun”! Shirley loved life and lived it to the fullest!
Shirley enjoyed boating, golf, shuffleboard and road trips with her husband Jack Kirksey.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 17 at Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 S. 129th East Ave., Broken Arrow, Oklahoma from 5-8.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 18 at Angus Baptist Church, 4401 S. 129th W. Ave., Sand Springs, Oklahoma at 1pm. Dr. Rick Cope officiating. Interment to follow at Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 S. 129th East Ave., Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
