Shirley Graves' Obituary
Shirley Jean Graves, 86, resident of Houston, Texas passed away October 4, 2019. Shirley was born March 22, 1933 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Willard and Guinevere James. Shirley was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She graduated from Central High School in 1951, moved to Reston, Virginia in 1973 until they moved to Zaire Africa in 1978 and then returned to Tulsa in 1982. She moved to Houston a few years after the passing of her husband and remained there being close to her children for her remaining years. She had several interests throughout her life that included traveling, golf, snow skiing, water skiing, bowling, camping, fishing, playing Bridge/Mahjong and always there to support her husband and children in all of their interests and activities. Shirley will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.Shirley is preceded in passing by her parents, Willard and Guinevere (Crippen) James, her husband, Phillip Graham (Sonny) Graves; her older sister, Barbara Black and husband Bill and Brother-in-law, Everett Ives. She is survived by her daughter, Debra O’neil and her husband Gary; son, Jim Graves and his wife Kristi; granddaughters Jami Daniel Graves, Britni Nichole Moya and her husband Jorge; great granddaughters Jordyn and Shayne. Visitation will be held from 3 pm – 7 pm on Wednesday, October 9 at Floral Haven Funeral Home.Services will be at 10 am on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the Floral Haven Chapel.
