Shirley Jean Mitchell's Obituary
SHIRLEY JEAN MITCHELL, 84 of Broken Arrow, made the journey to be with her Lord and Savior on October 4, 2020. She was born on November 28, 1935 in Joplin, Missouri to Robert and Gayle Doyle. Shirley never met a stranger and loved others with all of her heart; especially her family, and most importantly the love of her life, Ron Mitchell.
In her early years she enjoyed bowling and took many annual trips with her teammates to bowl in National Tournaments. In addition, she bowled with Ron and friends in a weekly league. Later in life she enjoyed the company of her family and friends playing bingo, bunco and collecting porcelain dolls. Shirley is preceded in death by her daughter Pam Sanders, parents Robert Doyle, Gayle Salas, stepfather Pete Salas, and brother Larry Doyle. Shirley is survived by her loving husband, of 65 years, Ron Mitchell of the home; daughter Kim Ford and son Jeff Mitchell, all from Broken Arrow. Grandchildren; Kendra and John McConnell, Hollie Jones, Allison and Jaime Kirby, Michael Wilson, Caitlyn and Dustin Kidd; eight Great Grandchildren and one Great-Great Grandson.
A funeral service will be held to celebrate Shirley’s life at 3PM on October 12, 2020 at Floral Haven Chapel. Donations may be made in her honor to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
