Shirley Jo Reed's Obituary
Shirley Jo Reed, revered as a pillar of strength and determination, embodying the true meaning of selflessness and vibrant living, passed into her heavenly home on February 27, 2025, peacefully and at rest.
Born on March 29, 1936, Shirley was best known for her genuine hospitality, generosity, her warm smile, and gracious demeanor.
Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her beloved daughter Melodi Trower and husband Scot; granddaughter Amber Alton and husband Travis; granddaughter Kylie Howard, husband Trevin, and great granddaughter Sylvie June; grandson Aubrey Trower; sister Jeanne Glenn; brother John Glenn and wife Ann; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Shirley is joined in rest by her father, John Clarence Glenn; her mother, Jo Emma Glenn; brother Jimmy Glenn; and niece Lisa Jo Farrar.
Professionally, Shirley dedicated over 30 years of selfless service to Lowrance Electronics, working in the International Sales Department. Lasting friendships were formed throughout every department of the organization, including those she served internationally. Shirley’s love language was baked goods. Her friends, both personally and professionally, looked forward to her holiday trays being in the office and often requested her Italian Creme cake for birthday celebrations. Baking and cooking were one of her greatest gifts. Her secret ingredient was undoubtedly the love she poured into every loaf of sourdough or well prepared meal she gifted to those she loved.
Homemade caramels, sugar cookies, Italian creme cake, fried chicken, and enchiladas were a few of her specialties.
The only thing Shirley loved more than serving others was her family, especially being a mother, a Noni, and most recently becoming a great Noni to Miss Sylvie June.
A Celebration of Life for Shirley will take place on Friday March 7, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. Those wishing to pay their respects and celebrate her life are welcomed.
Shirley’s loss is deeply felt by her family and all those who knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live on and inspire strength and generosity in those whose lives she touched.
