Shirley Jeannette Skaggs' Obituary
Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother Shirley Jeannette (Jarrard) Skaggs, 73, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 8, 2010, with her family by her side at her home in Tulsa, OK. A Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Hilldale Baptist Church of Claremore, OK. The interment service will take place on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at Floral Haven Cemetery of Broken Arrow, OK. Shirley was born September 11, 1937, in Bakersfield, CA. She married Earl Lee Skaggs on April 16, 1955 in Tulsa, OK. She was an active member of the Hilldale Baptist Church, serving as the pastor's wife and enjoying responsibilities such as teaching the Young Married Adult Sunday School class and the Women's Ministry. Her interests included family, church, studying her Bible, animals, the mountains, and going to Branson. Shirley is survived by her husband, Earl Skaggs; 3 sons, Robert Skaggs, Richard Skaggs, and John Skaggs; 1 daughter and her spouse, Shari and Tim Tullos; 12 grandchildren grandchildren, Michelle and Robbie Coach, Lindsey Raff, Bethany Raff, Benjamin Skaggs, Anna Skaggs, Tara Murray, Susan and Tony Ivey, Brock and Genny Tullos, Bailee Tullos; and 5 great-grandchildren, Tyler Coach, Makenna Murray, Savanna Ivey, Ozlynn Tullos, and Nevin Tullos. Shirley is also survived by her precious Bassett Hound, Maggie May. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh Chester Jarrard, Hester S. Greenwood, and Robert C. Greenwood. Donations may be sent to the Myelodysplastic Syndrome Foundation, the American Cancer Society, and Hilldale Baptist Church.
