Shirlie Ruth Yates, 84 of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, August 16, 2019 at her residence with family by her side. She was born February 18, 1935 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to her parents, Claude Chauncey Ritchey and Ruth Elizabeth Graves Ritchey.Shirlie is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, John “Jack” Yates of the home; one son, Joe Cleveland and his wife Terri of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one daughter, Virginia “Gina” New and her husband Richard of Leavenworth, Kansas; one step-son, John Yates and his wife Kathie of Peel, Arkansas; one step-daughter, Marianne Williams of Riverside, California; one sister, Karen Turner and her husband Tom of Fort Worth, Texas; nephews Christopher Laurence Hadley, Tulsa; James Kelly Cleveland Tulsa; Michael Carl Schoenfeldt, Michigan; Patrick Charles Schoenfeldt, Oklahoma City; nieces Melissa Cleveland McCorkle, Tulsa; Kathy Cleveland Black, Sand Springs; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Ruth Ritchey; her previous husband, James Cleveland; one sister, Alicia Ann Ash; nieces,Sherry Hadley Rice and Susannah Lee Schroder.Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
