Smitty Lee Herron, age 63, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on April 6, 2026. He was born on November 23, 1962, in Batesville, Mississippi, to Johnnie A. Herron and Juanita Herron (McKinney).
Smitty was a man known for his kind heart, servant spirit, and deep love for the Lord. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—spending time at the casino, fishing with his parents, mowing yards, and helping anyone in need. He had a special place in his heart for caring for others, always putting those around him before himself.
He worked at St. John’s Hospital and also took great pride in caring for school grounds, where his dedication and work ethic were evident to all who knew him. Smitty was affectionately known as the “Cookie Monster” because of his love for cookies, a nickname that brought smiles to many.
A devoted man of faith, Smitty loved his Bible and could often be found reading it each morning. His faith guided his life and was reflected in the way he loved and served others. He was especially protective and caring toward his sister Anita and his niece Mariah, always watching over them with unwavering love.
Smitty is survived by his sister, Anita Webster; his brothers, Kenneth Herron, Steve Herron, and Johnny Herron; and his nephew, Sam Webster. He leaves behind many cherished memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A service to celebrate Smitty’s life will be held on May 3, 2026, at Glad Tidings Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma at 2:30PM.
