Sonya Kay Hardman's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sonya Kay Hardman, who transitioned from this world on April 18, 2024, at the age of 44. She entered this word on November 11, 1979 in Fort Riley, Kansas. Sonya has always had a strong bond with her mother, Trudy. Sonya was always making sure her mom was happy and well, this was a relationship she always nourished. Sonya's radiant presence touched countless lives, leaving behind memories of her beauty, vibrancy, and unwavering kindness.
Sonya's journey led her through the halls of OU and into the service of her country through the Army National Guard. Her commitment to education and duty reflected her strong character and selflessness.
In her professional life, Sonya found purpose and joy as a pharmacy technician in the medical field. She took great pride in her work, finding fulfillment in aiding others on their paths to healing.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Sonya's passions were diverse and vibrant. From her love of singing and fashion to her appreciation for nature, travel, movies, and books, she embraced life fully. However, it was her boundless compassion for animals that truly ignited her spirit. Her dream of establishing a shelter for neglected and abused animals spoke volumes about her compassionate nature and unwavering dedication to making the world a better place.
Sonya is survived by her beloved mother, Trudy Peterson, her devoted brother, Jessie Peterson, and her adored niece, Lyric, and nephew, Julian. Additionally, she leaves behind a wide circle of family and friends who mourn her loss deeply.
Sonya will forever be remembered as a beacon of light, a beautiful soul whose impact on others was profound and lasting. To know her was an honor and a privilege, and her memory will be cherished eternally in the hearts of all who were blessed to cross her path.
Rest in peace, dear Sonya. Your legacy of kindness, compassion, and love will continue to inspire us all.
