Stanley Donald Haney's Obituary
Stanley “Stan” Donald Haney was born November 14, 1926 in Red Fork, Tulsa County, Oklahoma to C.M. Haney and Anna Haney. He passed away November 18, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He grew up in Red Fork until the age of 14, when his family moved to a farm near Westville, Oklahoma, where he met his future bride, Helen Rainwater. He and Helen graduated from Westville High School in the Class of 1944. After graduation from High School he spent two years in the Army Air Corps. He and Helen were married April 28, 1946. This year they celebrated their 71st anniversary. Stanley attended Spartan School of Aeronautics, Draughon Business College, and the University of Tulsa. He worked for International Harvest Company, Public Service Company, TransOK, Herdon Oil and Gas and then Barlow Hunt. He retired from Barlow-Hunt at the age of 65. He enjoyed being an accountant and enjoyed his work very much. Stan was a loving and devoted husband and father, and a very special PaPa to his two grandsons. Stan and Helen have been active members of Will Rogers United Methodist Church since 1954, where they have made many close friends through the years. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marvin Haney, who died in Korean War. Survivors include his loving wife of 71 years, Helen; daughter, Donna Haney of Tulsa; son, David Haney and daughter-in-law, Robin; grandsons, J.D. Haney and Reese Haney, all of Spring, Texas; sister, Marie Claxton of Tulsa; nephews, Don Haney (Sue) and family of Janesville, Wisconsin, Lynn (Sherri) Claxton of Sand Springs and family; Mike (Kay) Claxton of Tulsa and family; numerous other relatives. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m and family will greet friends that evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Will Rogers United Methodist Church, 1138 S. Yale, Tulsa. Burial will follow the service at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jim Lawson, Al Hamlett, Gary Rainwater, John Kuykendall, Bill Hiebeler and Jerry Mangum. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to the Will Rogers United Methodist Church or “Meals On Wheels.”
