A truly great man that will be sadly missed. See you next time, Old Man.
I knew Steve from 1986 to 1987 while working at Wiltel of the Williams Companies. Steve was a "frequent" visitor to my cubicle mainly to review my work on a large contract for payments. He appreciated my "use of my red pencil" when reviewing the terms of the contract and applying those terms to the invoice submitted. In most cases my adjustments were both up and down, depending on the circumstances. Now others in our department "scattered" when Steve came around to visit me, but I always had deep admidmiration for him and I think he respected my work in ensuring proper payment was made to the vendor. After completion of the Wiltel initial construction I was laid off. I asked Steve if he would consider writing me a reference letter which I have to this day.I will always remember Steve with deep gratitude and respect for what he stood for.
I worked with Steve at The Williams Companies. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. He was a kind and gentle soul.
Diana…Steve had such a tremendous life! I certainly admired and respected you both. When you moved it left a great void at FCC. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I would attend services but currently am in McKinney Tx at Cara's helping with new baby Allison. Hugs to you and family.
Will truely be missed.
My sincere condolences to Steve's family and friends in Oklahoma and Hong Kong. I have worked with Steve at Verizon over the last 10-12 years while he lived in Hong Kong. There is no doubt he was the Asia subject matter expert for MCI/WorldCom/Verizon in his job area. Many, many people consulted him for his opinions and assistance when it came to building equipment and circuits in Asia. Always good to work with and he even took time out of one of his US holiday trips 3 or 4 years ago to visit the Verizon office here in Richardson, TX to meet and say Hi to us. A couple of years ago we were on a conference call and he showed me through Google maps the land he and his wife had purchased in Oklahoma to build a house and retire. I know he was not retired for a long time but I hope he was able to build that house and spend some time there before he passed on. Regards, Jeff Mundt – McKinney, Texas
