Stephen Thomas Robinson's Obituary
Stephen Thomas Robinson, aka "Robi, Stevie, Steve, Dad, Papa, Uncle Steve," 78, peacefully passed August 8, 2023, at his home. Steve was born December 1, 1944, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ken and Helen Robinson. He married Alma in 1984 and they were members of Bethany Freewill Baptist Church. Steve graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1963. He was a Master Automotive Mechanic and Machinist. He enjoyed sunrises, sunsets, airplanes, Pontiacs, marbles, and A LOT of ice cream. He was a member of the Tulsa Chapter Indian Nation Pontiac Club and Tulsa Rock and Mineral Society. He served in the Air Force, "Three years, eleven months and 27 days." He openly shared his life stories of playing with neighborhood friends, "hanging out" with uncle Buddy and many cousins, spending time at Nanny's bar and cruising T-town with Ernie, Lonnie and "The girls," and his adventures while in Guam--and beyond. Steve always had a smile, quick to assist others and he never met a "stranger."
Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Alma, his parents and his brother, "Butch." Steve is survived by his daughters Lisa, Tiffany and Gena and her husband, Paul Simon; step-daughters Debbie Clark and Renea Gill; grandchildren Cheyne Clark and his wife Kate, Aaron Robinson, Kayla Clark, Caleb Gill, Sarah Nichols and her husband Derek, Johanna and Karleigh Simon; great-grandchildren Jackson Robinson, Oliver Clark, Avery Robinson; sisters Margaret Tarrant, Glenna Gillentine and her husband Andy, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.
