Steve Kent Foster's Obituary
Steven Kent Foster of Broken Arrow, OK passed away on February 6, 2012, at the age of 65. Born and raised in Lexington, NE, Steve went on to establish himself in Tulsa and was the Personnel Director of Arrow Trucking under the Presidency of the late Jim Pielsticker until 2002. He was an Eagle Scout, had been involved in many civic organizations such as Sertoma, sat on the Board of Advisors for Fort Scott Community College, and was instrumental in job training programs for discharged military. Steve had an immense passion for learning and business. These loves were exceeded only by the love and dedication he displayed toward his family. Most Saturdays over the last 18 years he could be spotted at the local donut shop with grandchildren in tow. He harbored a wonderful sense of humor, quick wit, and was respected and loved by those who knew him.Steve was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and wife of 45 years, Janice J. Foster and his father, Orval Foster. He is survived by his two daughters DeDe and husband Trip English, Belinda and husband Lance Whorton, and four grandchildren: Tyler and Terran English, and Blake and Paige Whorton. He is also survived by his mother Dorothy Foster of Lexington, NE, and two brothers, Denny and Ronald Foster.A celebration honoring Steve's life will take place at the Floral Haven Family Center in Broken Arrow on February 18th at 10:30 am. Steve was blessed with an organ donation in 2007 and had the privilege and fortune to stay at The Gift of Life House, a non-profit facility for transplant patients, during his surgeries and treatments. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in his honor be sent to the Gift of Life House at 705 2nd Street Southwest, Rochester, MN 55902, to pay the blessing forward.
