Steven Lee Gwartney,24, passed of Claremore, died Sunday, September 10, 2006. Steven was born in Tulsa, OK on March 14, 1982, to Stephen and Peggy Gwartney. For 24 years, he was the sunshine of our hearts and our lives. Lighting up the room with his loving smile…one that children could not resist. Steven was a 2000 graduate of Memorial High School in Tulsa. He loved to fish, play at the lake and wrestle, especially with his brother, Matthew. Steven had the gift of making people laugh, feel welcomed and important. He never missed an opportunity to say “I love you” with a hug and a kiss. “Who is going to give us our hugs today?” Steven was preceded in death by grandparents, Lorraine and Bill Ramey, and Guy Amey. He is survived by Mom and dad, Peggy and Steve Gwartney of the home; brother Matthew Gwartney and wife, Carly, Tulsa; grandparents, Wilhelmina and Arnold Gwartney, Tulsa; aunts and uncles, Randy and Lisa Gwartney, Gail and John Strange, Donna and Steve Dye, Susie and Dwight Gragg, Carl and Mona Amey, and Pam Morgan; many cousins and great cousins, and his dog and best friend, Buddy. We will miss him dearly and hold many special memories of him close to our hearts. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, 10:00 A.M., Southwood Baptist Church in Tulsa, with burial at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow.Survived By: Mom and dad, Peggy and Steve Gwartney of the home; brother Matthew Gwartney and wife, Carly, Tulsa; grandparents, Wilhelmina and Arnold Gwartney, Tulsa; aunts and uncles, Randy and Lisa Gwartney, Gail and John Strange, Donna and Steve Dye, Susie and Dwight Gragg, Carl and Mona Amey, and Pam Morgan; many cousins and great cousins, and his dog and best friend, Buddy.
