Obituary: Steven “Steve” Max Hardiman (1957–2024)
Steven “Steve” Max Hardiman, age 66, of Independence, Kansas, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024, at a Tulsa hospital. Born on July 21, 1957, in Arkansas City, Kansas, Steve was the beloved son of Max Edwin Hardiman and Shirley Kay Coffelt.
Steve married Marjorie Sue “Susie” McElroy, and together they created a lifetime of cherished memories. His love for family and friends was unwavering, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother, step-mother, niece, sister, and father. Steve is survived by his devoted wife, Susie Hardiman; his son, Patrick McElroy, and his children, Lacey and Aiden McElroy, along with his fiancée, Jennifer Deniece. His daughter, Missy Long, and her husband Bryan, along with their children, Cameron, Addy, and Milly, will forever hold him in their hearts. Daughter Terri Hardiman and her life partner Thomas Trombold, along with their son, Rowan Hardiman; his brother Mike Hardiman and his wife Connie and their four children; his dog Toto and several cousins also mourn his passing.
Steve’s passions included NASCAR, aircraft, Chiefs football, and flying with his father. His adventurous spirit and warm smile touched the lives of many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
