Steven Richard Sexton's Obituary
Steven Sexton, 72, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. He was born October 15, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Verdell Sexton and Virginia Marshall.
Steve was known by many as someone who could light up any room. As a longtime DJ, he possessed a deep love for music and a natural gift for bringing people together through music. Throughout his life, Steve made every effort to share joy and laughter with those around him. Known for his endless collection of “dad jokes,” he had a remarkable ability to make people smile, no matter the circumstance.
As a devoted father, he never missed an opportunity to share the pride he had for his five sons and their accomplishments to whomever would lend an ear.
He had many passions throughout his life. Outside of his love for music, he also enjoyed spending a morning on the golf course. He loyally cheered on his favorite sports teams, the Oklahoma Sooners and Dallas Cowboys. He was an especially big fan of legendary quarterback Tom Brady. Game days were always something he eagerly anticipated and delighted in sharing with family and friends.
Above all else, Steve was a devoted servant of God. His strong faith guided his life and was reflected in the way he treated others - with kindness, humor, and a genuine love for people. He had a special gift for lifting spirits and bringing joy wherever he went.
Steve will be remembered for his laughter, his love of music, his playful sense of humor, and the warmth he shared so freely with everyone he met. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, sister Cynthia Tucker, brother Brad Sexton and step-dad Loren Marshall.
He is survived by son Colton Sexton and his wife Callie Sexton, son Hunter Sexton, son Austin Sexton and his wife Audrey Sexton, son Chandler Sexton, son Miles Sexton, sister Jennifer Sexton, brother Brian Sexton, grandchildren Aidan Sexton, Asher Sexton, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
