Steven Steele's Obituary
Steven Reid Steele, 67 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed from this life on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 in a Tulsa hospital with his family by his side. He was born January 11, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri to his parents, Charles Reid Steele and Elizabeth Ann Weide Steele.Steven is survived by his wife, Merrieann D. Miller of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two daughters, Gina Tuell and her husband Shane of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Allison Taylor and her husband, Kevin of Lowell, Arkansas; two sisters, Sherry Wolf and her husband Bill of Cleora, Oklahoma and Darcy Munzer of Independence, Missouri; one step-son, Michael Randall of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three step-daughters, Elisabeth Randall of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Valerie Lobodiak of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Erica Miller of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Brycen Reid Tuell, Reece Link Tuell, Makenzy Renee Grisham and Grant Alan Taylor; and many friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth Steele and his previous wife, Lark Steele.Steve served in the US army, Missouri National Guard, and Oklahoma National Guard. Steve was selected to serve on the Honor Guard for the funeral of President Harry S. Truman. He went on to graduate from the FBI Academy in 1990. He served for 33 years with the Tulsa Police Department and retired with the rank of Major. Upon retirement, he went on to work for Advance Alarms, “saving the world, one burglar alarm at a time”.Steve loved his German heritage and traveled Germany dozens of times over the years. He was a member of the German American Society where he served as a board member for Tulsa Oktoberfest for many years. Whether he was boating at Grand Lake with friends and family at Gran Tara or Cherokee Yacht Club or socializing at Indian Springs Country Club, Steve was well-known for his wit, humor and pranks.He will be dearly missed and affectionately referred to by many as “Slimeball”.A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 15th at 3pm at Arrow Heights Baptist Church, 3201 S. Elm St. in Broken Arrow, OK.
