Sue Eileen Hamm's Obituary
Sue Hamm, age 87 of Broken Arrow, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. She was born November 11, 1936, in Liberty, KS to Gertrude Maureen Burns and William Thomas Beisly. Sue graduated from Caney Kansas High School. She went to work for Boeing Company in Wichita, Kansas. While at Boeing she met the love of her life, Edwin Hamm. Shortly after meeting, Edwin, his work moved him to Venezuela and later to Brazil, they continued the long-distance courtship and Edwin proposed to Sue by mail. The couple married shortly after on October 4, 1959, in Tyro, Kansas. Soon afterwards Edwin and Sue moved back to Brazil where they lived for two years before they relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma. In the fall of 1962, the family moved to their residence in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The couple became members of Sunnyside Baptist Church where Sue was a member of the choir, taught Sunday and bible school classes, and performed secretarial duties for the church.
Sue wore many hats in the Broken Arrow school system where she was a cook in the cafeteria, volunteered, and was an active member of the PTA. She was a Boy Scout Den Mother and a member of the Mothers of Twins club. Her other interests included reading, researching family genealogy, gardening, bird watching, working puzzles, and being a caregiver to all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Earl, Richard, and Joe Beisly; sister, Bernice Beisly, and grandson, Matthew Hulsey.
She is survived by her sister Antia Robinson and her children Michael Hamm, Mary DeCuir, Melinda Wright, Melissa Hulsey, Martin Hamm, and Monty Hamm; eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; as well as family and friends.

Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Service will be 12:30 pm, Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel
