Sue Swepston's Obituary
Edna Sue Swepston, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023, at the age of 93. She was born on October 17, 1930, in Welling, Oklahoma, to Charles Vanderpool and Alice Latty.
Sue had a passion for sewing and cooking, and her talents in these areas brought joy and comfort to her loved ones. She found immense happiness in the simple pleasures of life and had an unyielding optimism, bordering on rose-colored glasses when it came to her family. Her unceasing faith inspired those around her.
Sue was known for her straightforward nature, always willing to tell it like it was, or at least like she saw it, and her wisdom and honesty will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her daughter Viki Keller, son Paul Swepston, daughter Marilyn Mauldin and her husband Keith, son-in-law Larry Kirk, grandchildren Becky Austin, Carey Pike and her husband Brad, Katie Mauldin, Alex Mauldin, Zack Mauldin, Julie Bartlett and her husband Ed, Karen Bannon and her husband Tom, great-grandchildren Lauren Mays, Kylie Austin, Jack Austin, Marc Bartlett, Cody Bartlett, Owen Pike, Alice Pike, Lillian Pike, Mason Pike, Isabel Pike, T.J. Bannon, Sarah Bannon, and numerous great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her husband Homer Swepston, daughter Debra Kirk, sister Elsie Christie, sister Bennie Drake, sister Maxine Agee, sister Bertie Swepston and brother Gene Vanderpool.
Sue Swepston's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to shine through the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing her.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2023 from 5-7 at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2023 at 12:30 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens – Garden of Memories.
