Dearest Steven, Rodney and Summer, You won't remember me but I remember you three. Your Mom and Dad were my Mom and Dad's "best friends". I am Phyllis Kenton Brown, my dad John Kenton and mom Gerry Kenton were "Sight and Sound" with your mom and dad. Your parents were at my parents house the night I eloped in 1963. I loved them both and miss them both.. Two dynamic people! I feel a great loss, there will never be another SUE. I can hear her voice in my mind. She came to see Mother and me a few years ago in SoCal and it was a great visit. Your dad was the first person to arrive here, when he heard my dad had passed, back in 1979. Dear Steven, Rodney and Summer,Your family was such an extension of our family when I was a child that all of you were like siblings to me. It seemed like our families did everything together. My earliest memories are of living next door to each other when I was in kindergarten. I remember always hearing Sue coming into the house hollering "Amy" when she was trying to track down mother. I can hear her now! I have such great memories of our "family of 9" with Charles W. as the "man nanny"! I haven't seen Sue for many, many years, but I feel a great loss inside and the closure of that season of my childhood that was so filled with smiling Sue, cigarette in hand as we experienced daily living and all those adventures, mostly together.

Steven, Rodney, Summer, and Family, I'm so sorry about your loss. All my love, thoughts, and prayers are with all of you. Aunt Susie has been the glamorous person I've ever known and the world has lost a little of it's shine. No one else will ever call me "Sis" again. I was her favorite little girl until Summer and Kerri Jane came along and then I had to share her. She gave me some of the most wondrous experiences in my life. I'd never known anyone with a swimming pool in their backyard before. She was as close to Jackie Onassis as I'll ever get. From the sprawling ranch I remember as a child to the beautiful historical home by Utica Square, to that mausoleum with the statues out front and the vintage home off Peoria, Aunt Susie lived a life filled with style and grace and I always wanted to be just like her. She lived her life with love and a generous spirit and was the most wonderful aunt a girl could ever ask for. She has raised three incredible children with wonderful children and grandchildren of their own and has been a loyal friend as well. Aunt Susie has been a tender, vulnerable soul and I'm thankful for all the people who have been there for her all these years. I'm grateful that she was surrounded by friends and family there to provide love and support for her at the end. I hold on to the hope that she is in a glorious place with Daddy waiting for the rest of us to get there. Much love, your cousin, Lorry
