Susan Jean Beck 's Obituary
Susan Beck passed away March 22, 2020 at her home in Verdigris, Oklahoma at the age of 68. She was surrounded by her family and comforted in her belief as state in John 3:16 – “For God so loved the World that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
She was born on December 29, 1951 to Jack and Gladys Robertson in San Mateo California. At the age of three her family moved from California to the Dallas area and then in 1962 the family moved to Tulsa. In 1971 she married Don Beck and started a family of her own and in 1980 they moved to Verdigris, OK and it has been “home” ever since. She worked in Claremore as a Real Estate Closer for many years and made many friends and acquaintances along the way.
Her greatest joy has always been spending time with her family. She was very proud of her kids and grand-kids. She felt blessed to be able to have an active role in their lives. She never missed a basketball, soccer, football, or baseball game or cheer-leading event if she could help it. She was their biggest fan! There are also many fond memories of vacationing in the in the Rocky Mountains and on the beaches of Maui or Gulf Shores and of course the Shores of Ft. Gibson Lake. The saying, “the family that plays together stays together,” was written with her in mind. There was also plenty of time for sibling trips, girl’s weekends and family dinner to catch up on life’s events.
She was very active in the life of her church and strong in her Christian faith. Her faith, family and friends were the most important things in her life. She will be remembered as a loving, caring, generous, strong woman, and she will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children – Keith Beck and wife Shannon, Deanna Hastings and husband Stephen; grandchildren – Taylor, Haley, Grant, Blake, Jordan and Tyler; Siblings- Nancy and husband Ron, Jack and wife Patti, and Barbara and husband Paul; Sister-in-law Carolyn and husband Efrain; Brother-in-law Gary and wife Kori and numerous nieces and nephews who dearly loved her.
Regrettably due to the Coronavirus guidelines, funeral services will not be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Cancer Treatment Centers of America would be welcomed.
Due to CDC guidelines we must limit the visitation. Please feel free to stay home and share your memories, photos, and sign the online guestbook here on our website. Thank you all for your cooperation.
The family would very much like to thank everyone for all the thoughts, prayers and acts of kindness that have been received throughout Susan’s battle with cancer. It has been a tremendous blessing to have so many loving, caring people in our lives. Thank you!!
