Susan Deeter's Obituary
Susan Green Deeter peacefully passed on October 26, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born on May 13, 1942 in Monroe, Louisiana to Cecil Green and Gracie Brown.Susan was a very hard, dedicated worker. Throughout the years, she worked at various locations in machine shops and metal work. She would even pick up cleaning jobs at night in order to support her family and five children. She was very patriotic and appreciative of those that served the country.When she wasn’t working, Susan loved to be outside, whether is was working on the yard or fishing. She also enjoyed staying in to work on genealogy charts and watch movies on the Hallmark Channel.She had a big heart and giving spirit for people and animals. She never met a stranger and was always ready to strike up a conversation.Susan is preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Gracie Green and her daughter, Treena Elizabeth Moore.She is survived by her daughter DaVonna and husband Henry McGrew; daughter Melody and Jeff Schafer; daughter Susan Elder; son Norman Ross Moore; and daughter Katharine Elizabeth Anne Thomas; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.Visitation will take place on Friday, November 1 from 5 pm – 8pm.Services will be at 12:30 pm on Saturday, November 2 at the Floral Haven Chapel.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Susan’s honor to a local Humane Society.The Humane Society of the United States 1255 23rd Street, NW, Suite 450 Washington, DC 20037
