Susan Jane Guess' Obituary
Susan Jane Guess, 76 of Broken Arrow passed away in her home on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Susie was born in Memphis Tennessee on April 5, 1948, to William “Bill” and Helen Guess. Susie graduated from Bartlett High School in 1966. Her pride and joy and only son Tony was born and they moved to Oklahoma in 1978 making their home in Mannford and later Broken Arrow.
Susie spent her career working for Schering- Plough. She retired and spent her time traveling and loving on her family. Susie was loved dearly by her husband, Jerry Ashmore who waited on her hand and foot and gave her loving care until her last day.
Susie was adored by her grandchildren and their “parental units”. She will be remembered as being the best “Ginney” in the world, never being too busy for any of her grandchildren and always their biggest cheerleader. She had a passion for gardening and a love of Elvis.
Susie is survived by her husband Jerry Ashmore, son Nolen “Tony” Cleaves and daughter in love Nichole, grandchildren Kayla Cleaves, Kierstyn Cleaves and Matt Cleaves. Bonus family Jerrod Ashmore (Kristal), Tracey Bowlin (Dustin), Will Ashmore, Kaiya Ashmore, Sadie Bowlin and Sidney Bowlin, sister Nita Armour (Jimmy) and brother Bill “Dub” Guess (Susan). She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Helen Guess, and sister Penny Marcum.
Per Susie’s request there will be no services, but we will always love our Ginney to the moon and back. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Stone County Humane Society Cat Cottage: www.schspets.org
We also would like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff at St. Francis Hospital, the nurses and nurse techs on floors 5 and 7, Dr. Zengou, Dr. Brian Hightower and Luminos Hospice for the care and compassion they provided to our family.
Arrangements entrusted to Floral Haven Funeral Home.
