McElhannon, Sylvia's Obituary
Sylvia Cordile McElhannon (Cagle), age 81, passed away on August 4, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on April 2, 1943, in Coweta, Oklahoma, Sylvia grew up in Muskogee where she completed her schooling, graduating from Muskogee High School in 1961 and later from Draughon's Business College in 1968.
Sylvia's career spanned various roles, most notably as an Executive Assistant and Archivist at Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother from 1998 to 2007. Her position allowed her to travel extensively, including memorable trips to Rome, Berlin, and Austria. She also held positions at Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Hilti, and worked as a waitress earlier in her career.
Known for her kind, generous, loving, and witty personality, Sylvia was also proudly stubborn. She cherished attending OU Sooner games, often accompanied by her late partner, Mike Blevins, who was the love of her life.
Sylvia is survived by her son, Matthew Provinsal and his wife Tammie of Sperry; grandchildren, Douglas, Taylor and Darrington Norris, and Clayton Provinsal; siblings, Ann Wheeler of North Carolina, Jane Willis and Charles Cagle of Tulsa, Jimmy Cagle and his wife Deborah of Muskogee; sister-in-law, Donna of Tulsa; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elva Katherine Ferguson and Charles Andrew Cagle; siblings, Ietta Collins, Robert Cagle, and Jerry Cagle; and her beloved Mike Blevins.
Services to honor Sylvia's life will be held at Floral Haven Chapel in Broken Arrow, OK, on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 10am. Floral Haven Funeral Home is assisting the family during this time.
