Sylvia Mae Williams' Obituary
Sylvia Mae Williams, affectionately known as "GiGi" to her beloved grandchildren and cherished by her entire family, peacefully departed this world on August 27, 2023, in Littleton, Colorado. She was 84 years old.
Sylvia was born on July 7, 1939, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to her loving parents, Leonard "Acil" and Ruby Boon. Throughout her life, Sylvia dedicated herself to her family and her career in the food service industry. She and her husband Jack were a dynamic duo, serving countless patrons at Elmo's Grill. Later in her career, Sylvia excelled as a bakery and deli manager at Homeland and Reasors in Tulsa.
Before relocating to Colorado to be close to her beloved family, Sylvia was an active member of the Eastwood Baptist Church in Tulsa. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and she found solace and strength within her church community.
Sylvia had a passion for reading, needlework, and quilting. Her skilled hands lovingly crafted quilts that became treasured heirlooms for her family and friends. She was also an active member of several quilting groups, sharing her talents and forming lasting friendships along the way.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Nancy Kidder, her nieces, Cara Renbarger and Teresa Stafford, and her grandson, Stephen Farrill. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be forever etched in the hearts of her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Robin Taylor and her husband, Ron of Anadarko, and Jacqueline Wright of Tulsa. Sylvia's presence will be deeply missed by her adoring grandchildren, Robin Sims and her husband, Elliott of Littleton, CO, Jeremy Wright and his wife, Lorell of Littleton, CO, Christopher Wright and his wife, Courtney of Plano, TX, Justin Taylor and his wife, Brigitte of Yukon, OK, and Jordan Huertas and her husband, Dylan of Anadarko, OK. Sylvia's love extended to her great-grandchildren, leaving behind six cherished blessings. Sylvia also leaves behind her niece, Kathy Bell, and her husband, Russell of Gillette, WY, along with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family members. Her warm and caring spirit touched the lives of many, creating a web of love that will endure through the generations.
As we bid farewell to our dear GiGi, may we find solace in the knowledge that her love will live on in our hearts, and her memory will forever brighten our lives. Sylvia Mae Williams, you will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
