Teresa will be missed! She was definitely one of a kind and I'll never forget going to see her and Kelly lots of times when they lived in the house on 21st in Tulsa; and seeing Teresa in her beautiful makeup and her signature red nails. She was such a vibrant person and had such a zest for life and loved her daughter and her grandkids so much! She will definitely be missed!
To honor mom and her love of the color pink and the OSU Cowboys, we are asking visitation and burial service attendees to wear pink or orange.
I am Teresa’s “baby” sister. She was funny, sarcastic and all teacher. Enough Neel in her to be ornery with McFarland smarts. Mother’s favorite. I think she did like teaching, I couldn’t hold a candle to her spelling and knowledge of history, but I did build her house on 21st street. Big T, gone too soon. L C and Ellen Neel had 3 daughters, Teresa ‘49, Patricia ‘50 and Marquitta ‘54. 5 Grand children, Benjamin, Kelly, Lara, Lisa and Emily. 4 great grandchildren Olivia, Nickolas, Alexander, and Elzbeth. I’d like to turn back the clock to the kids playing in a kiddie pool on Teresa’s back porch at her Bixby house. Good times.
I first met Teresa a little over two years ago when I was visiting Pawhuska with Teresa’s other living sister, Marquitta. We stumbled across her at the Pioneer Woman’s Mercantile, Teresa was with the Burgundy Place group on a field trip. Teresa and Marquitta had not been in touch in years. They were delighted to find each other and shared tears and an afternoon rekindling their sisterhood. Every time I saw them together, they were obviously enjoying their time. So sorry to hear of Teresa’s passing and heartbroken for Marquitta.
I had the joy of being one of her students and was able spend time with her out of school when we work together. She was always there to encourage me and point me in the right direction. She will be missed. Sending prayers to you Kelly and the kids.
