Terrie Rae Hardy's Obituary
Mrs. Terrie Rae Hardy, age 71, of Tulsa passed away at her home in Tulsa on August 4, 2014 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Tulsa at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 11, 2014 and graveside services at 3:30 PM the same day at Floral Haven cemetery in Broken Arrow. Terrie was born to Mr. and Mrs. R. Paul Blankenship on April 14, 1943 at the military hospital in Norman, Oklahoma. After her father left the navy, her family moved to Broken Arrow where she and her younger sister grew up. After graduating from high school, she attended and graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. After college, she moved to Tulsa where she taught art in the elementary schools for several years and married her husband on September 28, 1973. Terrie’ was an artist. She was a very giving and selfless person. Her life was directed at ministering to people. She started a card ministry in 1978 which later became the prayer card ministry at First United Methodist Church of Tulsa in 1986 and led it until shortly before her death. She also assisted many other curches throughout the country in starting their own card ministries and supplied artwork and cards to several of them. She started and conducted a doll ministry that designed, made and supplied dolls and ministry oriented coloring books that were translated into several languages to missionaries that traveled and distributed them to children in many countries. Terrie is survived by her husband, David Hardy of the home, her children, Paul Hardy of Broken Arrow and Laura ‘Christen’ Holloway of Kansas City, Missouri, her sister, Debbie Clarke of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, her grandson Eon Edic of Coweta, her niece, Staci VanDerent of Fayetteville Arkansas, and two great grandchildren.
