Roller, Terry Ray's Obituary
Terry Ray Roller, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed from this life on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at the age of 72 in his home, surrounded by the life and family he had built with his cherished wife.
Terry was born in Pawnee, OK on September 22, 1953 to parents Chuck and Berta Roller, and then some years later, their family welcomed little sister, Patti. He graduated from Bartlesville High School and then went on to earn his degree from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. Terry was a cowboy, through and through, and in 1991 he was a member of the World Champion Roping Team. A few years down the road at the end of 1993, Terry attended a New Year’s Eve party with friends, and that’s where he would meet the woman that would become his wife, Becky. They wed on October 16, 1997 and Terry stepped into the role of Papa Terry, or “Pa” as he was most frequently called, with such love and dedication. He became a solid wall that the family could easily lean on, whether it was for help, advice, or just an ear to listen.
Terry and Becky loved hosting friends and family, spending many hours on the back porch telling stories of the great adventure that was his life. Terry also liked traveling, and enjoyed several large family vacations. He even went along on several trips over the years to the US-127 600 Mile Garage Sale in Kentucky with the women hunting for antiques, pulling a U-Haul behind him for all the treasures they couldn’t return home without. He explored the Grand Canyon on the back of a mule, rode the train through the mountains in Silverton, CO, and fished the deep seas of the Gulf Coast, just to name a few of his many adventures. He was a man of integrity and loyalty, and he will be sorely missed by all those that loved him.
Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Berta Roller and brother in law Dan Lackey. Terry is survived and celebrated by so much family, including wife Rebecca Lou Roller of Haskell, sister Patti Lackey of Dewey, daughter Tammy Sappington of Claremore, son Jack Sappington and his wife Kari of Claremore, son Jesse Sappington and his wife Jerri of Oologah, along with seven grandchildren and their spouses, and four, soon to be five, great grandchildren.
“Go rest high on that mountain, son, your work on earth is done.”
A memorial service for Terry will be held Tuesday, May 19 2026 at Floral Haven at 12:30pm.
