Thavat "Harry" Chompunuchtanin's Obituary
On January 5th, 2025, Thavat "Harry" Chompunuchtanin passed away peacefully in Tulsa, OK, surrounded by family and love. Born on March 2nd, 1945, in Bangkok, Thailand, Harry moved to the States in his 20s, where he met the love of his life, Arlene Chompunuchtanin, through a mutual friend. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter and were blessed with two wonderful daughters, Julie and April.
Harry was a man who cherished his family above all else. He loved spending time outdoors—hunting and fishing were his passions—and he especially treasured the moments when his daughters joined him on his fishing trips. His sarcastic humor, goofy antics, witty remarks, and stoic strength filled our lives with joy and comfort.
Known for being supportive, responsible, kind, and hardworking, Harry was deeply protective of his daughters. He remained close to Arlene's family here in the States while always making time to visit his family back in Thailand. His dedication to keeping family bonds strong, no matter the distance, was a testament to his loving nature.
Harry is survived by his daughters, Julie & Andrew McCrary and April & Joseph Chompunuchtanin; his grandson, James Thavat McCrary; and his siblings, Lawan & Sawat Pulwiwatchaiyakarn, Amporn & Thana Kaewruen, Wanee Kongkietnathee, and Yongyut & Tanyapa Chompunuchtanin.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Arlene; his parents, Zimeo and Yindee Chompunuchtanin; and his brothers, Thanin Chompunuchtanin and Jarong Bandhaya.
Our hearts ache with his passing, but we find comfort in the countless memories we've shared. Harry's love, laughter, and the lessons he taught us will forever be cherished. He will always be in our hearts, guiding us with his legacy of love and family.
