Theresa Lynn Johnson's Obituary
Theresa Lynn Johnson passed away on January 16, 2026, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Ohio at the age of 58.
Born on March 18, 1967, in Renton, Washington, Theresa was the beloved daughter of Pamela J. Johnson and the late George E. Johnson Jr. She graduated from Auburn High School in Washington and furthered her education with courses at Green River College and Tulsa Junior College in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
As a young girl, Theresa showed rabbits at the King County Fair and was a member of Camp Fire Girls, where she enjoyed beading, singing, and spending time with friends. She was kind, generous, and deeply loved children, cats, dogs, and especially hummingbirds and cardinals. She had a special fondness for lilacs and roses and found great joy in gardening, flower arranging, homemaking, baking, crocheting, jewelry making, and reading. Theresa truly enjoyed life’s simple beauties.
Family meant everything to Theresa. As the oldest child, she lovingly helped raise her brothers and sister so her parents could work to support the family. She later helped raise her brother George’s four daughters and cherished all of her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. Though she never married or had children, being an aunt was one of the greatest joys of her life. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved little Chihuahua, “Chico,” who brought her endless comfort and companionship.
Theresa had a wonderful sense of humor and an upbeat outlook on life. She always looked for the bright side and was quick to help anyone in need. She was a woman of strong Baptist faith, having given her life to Christ at around 13 years old in a small Baptist church in Algona, Washington, alongside her siblings and friends. Her favorite necklace, a mustard seed pendant inspired by Matthew 17:20, was a symbol of the faith she carried throughout her life.
Shortly before her passing, Theresa shared a vivid dream of sitting on a bench in Heaven speaking with Jesus, recognizing Him by the nail scars in His hands and feet. She described a bright and beautiful field filled with colorful flowers and animals running and playing — a peaceful glimpse of eternity that brought her comfort.
She was preceded in death by her father, George E. Johnson Jr.; her grandparents, Hobart E. Shaw and Shirley A. Shaw, George E. Johnson Sr. and Lucille T. Johnson; her uncle Larry H. Johnson; her uncle Ron Rash; her aunt Janet L. Johnson; her aunt Mary E. Benway; her niece Nika M. Anders; and her cousin Michael Camarata.
She is survived by her loving mother, Pamela J. Johnson; her brothers, George E. Johnson III and Stephen L. Johnson; her sister, Christina J. West; her uncles Ernest E. Johnson, Thomas W. Johnson, Joe Benway, and Douglas K. Shaw; her aunts Debbie Johnson, Deborah Johnson, Diana S. Shouse, Kathryn Shaw, and Loreena M. Shaw-Rash; her sisters-in-law Tami Johnson and Cica Johnson; her brother-in-law Ray O. West; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A celebration of Theresa’s life will be held on March 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Floral Haven in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, followed by a graveside service. Her ashes will be placed alongside her beloved niece, Nika M. Anders.
Theresa will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering faith, bright spirit, and the love she so freely gave. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will live on in all who knew her.
