Thomas "Tom" Blaho's Obituary
Thomas Stephen Blaho, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 3rd, 2025. He was born on June 24, 1945, in Dover, New Jersey, to Joseph Blaho and Madelyn Blaho (Keller).
On January 10, 1969, Tom married the love of his life, Sandra “Sandy” Blaho, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where they built a life rooted in love, service, and faith. A talented woodworker, Tom devoted much of his time and skill to crafting toys for Operation Christmas Child—a ministry close to his heart. His passion for this work reflected the essence of who he was: a man with a servant’s heart, always ready to lend a hand.
Tom was rarely found idle. Whether repairing lawnmowers or small engines, volunteering in disaster relief efforts, or tackling projects around the house, he brought care and dedication to all he did. His legacy of hard work and compassion touched many lives.
Affectionately known as “Poppy,” Tom cherished his role as a grandfather to Alexander and Zoe Hughes. His family meant the world to him, and his love and presence will be deeply missed.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Sandy Blaho; his daughter, Christine, and her husband, Peter Hughes; his son, Brian Blaho, and his husband, Arnulfo Maldonado; his grandchildren, Alexander and Zoe Hughes; and his sister, Mary Jo Amari. He is also remembered fondly by a host of extended family members and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Blaho and Madelyn Blaho; and his brothers, Frank Blaho and Ron Blaho.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 12:30 p.m., also at Floral Haven.
Tom’s life was a testament to love, generosity, and faith in action. His memory will be treasured always.
The family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers you consider making a donation to Operation Christmas Child, a cause that was dear to Tom's heart.
