Thomas William Buttrey's Obituary
Thomas William Buttrey; 90, Tulsa b.8-2-1932 d.1-21-2023 Good and faithful servant. Godly man. Rock of the family. Great sense of humor. He loved God and his family and life. Had many accomplishments. Was an avid runner for many years- very much ahead of his time. Started jogging in the early 1960’s and enjoyed it for many decades. Even running 15Ks in his 70’s. He was integrative and knowledgable in health and nutrition and overcame many things. He served his country- United States Navy (Korean War Veteran). Worked many years in the Airline industry. A rare gentleman and very unique. He will be missed beyond measure.
Survived by many loving family members: daughter Valerie J. Buttrey and son Michael T. Buttrey (Glenda). Recently predeceased by daughter Rhonda L. Blackwell. Survived by grandsons R. Brennison Hebard (Shelby), Jason Blackwell (Theresa), Jeremy Buttrey, and granddaughter Megan Price (Daniel). Also, six great-grandchildren: Eli- Sydney- Blair- Judah- Farren- Kolten.
He is survived by several wonderful nieces and nephews and also survived by a younger
half-brother Thomas Carl Buttrey Jr. He is preceded in death by half-sister Janice Tiger
and sister Betty Tripp and by his parents Ruby Elizabeth and Thomas Carl Buttrey.
A Celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
