Thomas Granville Chronister's Obituary
Thomas Granville Chronister, age 80, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, October 2.
Mr. Chronister was born July 14, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, and was the son of the late Granville W. and Roberta I. (Kissell) Chronister.
He was married to Dorothy Virginia (Bryan) Chronister on August 24, 1963 in Berkeley, MO. They had a son and a daughter and were married over 59 years.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy, their son Curtis Chronister, their daughter Maria and her husband Michael Carroll. In addition, he is survived by his 3 grandchildren, Samantha Chronister, Michael Malwick, Rachel and her husband Samuel Roberts, and his step-grandchild, Tambra Bulstrode.
He is also survived by his two brothers and their wives, George & Colleen Chronister of St. Louis, MO, and Donald & Nancy Chronister of San Antonio, TX.
Tom had a long and successful career as a Metallurgical Engineer in the foundry industry, ultimately advancing to Vice President of Sales Engineering at Bodine Aluminum in St. Louis. He received his Bachelor of Science from the Missouri School of Mines & Metallurgy (now Missouri University of Science & Technology) in Rolla, MO. He also was bestowed the honor of Professional Metallurgical Engineer from Missouri S&T.
Tom enjoyed boating with his extended family and friends at Lake Saint Louis, Lake of the Ozarks, and Grand Lake o’ the Cherokees. He was also an avid old car collector owning a 1963 Triumph TR-4 and was active in the Green Country Triumphs of Northeast Oklahoma club.
