Thomas Owen Cordray's Obituary
Thomas Owen Cordray, 79, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on November 12, 2025. Born on March 22, 1946, in Bristol, England, to John and Barbara Cordray, Thomas lived a life filled with service, curiosity, and quiet strength.
After moving to the United States, Thomas proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard for four years, where he developed the discipline and sense of purpose that guided him throughout his life. Following his service, he pursued a lifelong passion for engineering, working with Spirit Airlines on Boeing 727 aircraft and contributing to the International Space Station program—work that reflected his deep fascination with flight and innovation.
Thomas’s interests were as varied as his talents. A dedicated Mason, he valued fellowship and integrity. He worked for a time at the Tulsa Zoo, where his love of animals shined, especially when he was driving the beloved zoo train, delighting children and visitors alike. He was also actively involved in Girl Scouts activities, lending his skills and steady presence to support his family and community.
Throughout his life, Thomas traveled widely for work, but always carried home in his heart. Those who knew him will remember his quiet demeanor and the power of his words—he didn’t speak often, but when he did, everyone listened. He was kind, thoughtful, and steadfastly loving—a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
