Thomas Edward Fultner's Obituary
Thomas Edward "Tom" Fultner, lovingly known as "Bud" to his family and friends, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the age of 86, while residing in his hometown of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
Tom was born on October 23, 1938, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, to Ervin Fultner and Virgie Jones Fultner. He was their only son and the second of three children. Raised in Arkansas, Tom attended Ravenden Springs High School, where he developed a deep passion for basketball, a sport he loved playing.
After graduation, Tom pursued higher education at Mississippi State University, earning a degree in Industrial Technology. His dedication to lifelong learning led him to further his education at University of Tulsa, where he obtained a General Business degree. He later continued his education with a Modern Business degree from Alexander Hamilton Institute and various other formal studies at the University of Tulsa from 1964 to 1994.
After college Tom joined the Army Reserve and finished as a Sergeant. Shortly after beginning his career in the aerospace industry with McDonnell Douglas, which later became Boeing, Tom met the love of his life, Nancy Clarke, who also worked at the plant. Their shared journey led to a beautiful marriage in 1968, spanning 56 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, faith, and family, raising three children and later welcoming three grandsons and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Tom led a life full of dedication and service to others. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather. His life was marked by hard work, dedication, and commitment—to his family, his faith, and his community.
His career with McDonnell Douglas spanned over 30 years, where he rose to a senior management position and earned respect as a leader and mentor. Beyond his professional success, Tom’s servant heart led him to volunteer and serve his community in many capacities. He was known for his generosity, guidance, and unwavering support of others, both in his workplace and church, where he served in numerous volunteer roles at First Methodist Broken Arrow over the years.
Beyond his professional and family life, Tom was a proud member of the Tulsa Masonic Lodge, embodying the principles of brotherhood, integrity, and service. A man of perseverance, and faith, Tom was also a cancer survivor, overcoming challenges with strength and resilience. He remained active in various civic and professional organization, always seeking to mentor and uplift those around him.
Tom was a man of strong values, respected for his wisdom, kindness, and leadership. Whether mentoring colleagues, supporting his family, or giving back to his church and community, he embodied the principles of faith, integrity, and selflessness.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ervin Fultner and Virgie Jones Fultner; sisters Charlene Fultner English and Sharon Fultner; brother-in-law Judd English; and son-in-law Mike Keller.
Left to cherish Toms memory is his beloved wife Nancy Fultner of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; daughter Christy Miller and her husband Russell of Park Hill, Oklahoma, and Caren Keller of Mannford, Oklahoma; son Craig Fultner of Corinth, Texas; grandsons Jason Greiner and his wife Lauren of Wylie, Texas, Chance Fultner and his fiancé Ashley of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and Seth Keller and his wife Jackie of Cushing, Oklahoma; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; along with other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services for Tom will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home (6500 S. 129th E. Ave, Broken Arrow, OK, 74012) on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 3:00 pm at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will take place on Monday, March 17 from 5:00-7:00 pm, and he will be laid to rest at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Reflections.
