Thomas "Tom" Lee Hoffman's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Lee Hoffman, 82, of Bixby, Oklahoma, who passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025.
Thomas was born on January 3, 1943, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Mary Elizabeth Sprouls Hoffman and John (Bill) William Hoffman. He grew up in Sperry and Tulsa, Oklahoma, and attended McLain High School, graduating with the class of 1961. Thomas earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Tulsa in 1973.
Thomas proudly served in the US Army. He built a successful career as a computer programmer, dedicating much of his professional life to Shell Oil Company. Later, he worked for First Data Corporation and made significant contributions to the Y2K conversion at Citgo.
Outside of work, Thomas and his wife Sue shared a love of Square Dancing, serving as Presidents of the Northeast Oklahoma Square Dance Association in 1984. The couple also enjoyed bowling, where their story together began. Thomas was an avid gardener with a remarkable green thumb, cultivating a variety of plants and vegetables, including his famously delicious tomatoes, vibrant bell peppers, and even tropical pineapples. He took great pride in caring for his lawn and gardens and was always ready to lend a helping hand to neighbors in need. Above all, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather who deeply cherished his family.
Thomas will be lovingly remembered by his three children, Steven Hoffman, Jeffrey Hoffman, and Alicia Hoffman, who carry on his legacy of love and devotion, as well as his cherished granddaughter, Abigail Hoffman, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his sisters Doris, Mary Jane, Ann, and Connie. He is reunited with his parents, John and Mary, his beloved wife Carolyn Sue, and his brothers Edwin, David, Walter, Harold, and Gene Hoffman.
We find solace in knowing that Thomas lived a full, meaningful life and left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His warmth, kindness, and devoted spirit will forever be remembered.
Services will be webcasted for those friends and family members who are unable to attend the service.
