Thomas Ollie Jones' Obituary
Tom was born in Coweta, Oklahoma on July 15, 1932 to Laura (Ward) and Hershel Jones. He served in the Air Force and Navy Reserve, retiring in 1984 after 35 years of service. He also worked for American Airlines, retiring in 1994 after 35 years of service. Tom married Lorene (Wolf) on February 5, 1960 in Owasso, Oklahoma. They were married for 48 years before she passed away in 2008. Tom spent 77 years in Oklahoma including Coweta, Tulsa, Wagoner and Owasso, before moving to Tennessee in 2009 to be near his daughter, Tammy and grandson, Josh. Tom was always a hard worker and a proud Veteran. He held more than one job at a time for most of his life. He loved going fishing, gardening, playing cards, watching movies and spending as much time with his family as possible. Tom was a devoted husband, father, brother and papa. He spent his life taking care of others – including his wife and 2 sisters before their passing. Tom was a Christian and was a member of Twin Oaks and Maranatha Baptist Churches. He was loving, kind and selfless. He had an amazing smile and had a way that made others feel cared for and safe. He was not materialistic; he would rather spend his money on helping others, his church, veterans’ charities and making memories with his family and friends. The most important thing to him was his family & friends and he will be dearly missed by everyone that knew and loved him.He was preceded in death by his mother Laura, father Hershel, brother Kenneth, sisters Bonette and Audrey, wife Lorene, grandson Scott and step-grandson in-law Jeff. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Jones) Parisotto and her husband Chris of Arlington, Tennessee and step-son Gary Southern and his wife Gail of Broken Arrow, OK, his half-brother Jerry Mitchell and his wife Dixie of Tulsa, OK and his uncle, J.O. Ward. Five Grandchildren: Joshua, Michael, Teresa, Jananne and Tracey. Ten Great Grandchildren: Sophie, Lilly, Audrey, Jack, Austin, Ali, Hunter, Taylor, Emily and Jack, as well as many cousins and close friends.Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral HomeFuneral Service will be 12:30 p.m., Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel
