Thomas John Kupsky's Obituary
Thomas John Kupsky, affectionately known as Tom or Tommy, passed away at the age of 74 on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on October 29, 1949, in Elmhurst, Illinois, Tom was the beloved son of Ruthellyn Clevenber Kupsky and Emil Frederick Kupsky.
Tom’s life was marked by remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication. He graduated from Villa Park High School in 1967 and continued his education at the National Autonomous University in 1968. Later, he earned his degree from the University of Illinois Circle Campus in 1972.
His professional journey took him through the skies, as he worked in the airline industry for several prestigious carriers, including Continental Airlines, Avanica, Mexicana Airlines, Aeromexico, and the Mexican Government. Tom held the esteemed position of Executive Vice President of Sales and Operations for Mexico and Latin America, earning numerous awards for his outstanding service.
In 2019, Tom retired, leaving behind a legacy of excellence and dedication. His career spanned across states, from Illinois to Colorado, Florida, Texas, Georgia, Arizona, California, and finally Oklahoma.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tom was a man of immense character. He embodied kindness, thoughtfulness, sweetness, intelligence, care, love, and patience. His unwavering commitment to reading the Bible throughout his married life touched the hearts of those around him. Tom’s infectious sense of humor brought laughter and smiles to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
But perhaps Tom’s greatest joy came from his role as Papi to his beloved grandchildren. He reveled in rolling around with them, reading stories, blowing bubbles, and playing with their toys and games. His departure leaves a void that will be felt deeply by all who loved him.
He is survived by: Dominga Castellanos Kupsky (Wife), Daniel Frederick Kupsky (Son), Farina Islam Kupsky (Daughter-in-law), Isabella Sarah Kupsky (4 years old), Jasmine (3 years old), Liam (1 year 7 months), Emil Frederick Kupsky (father), Janis Hynes (twin sister), Mary Alice Tierney (sister), Melinda Hance (sister) and a host of other family and friends that will forever miss him.
