Thomas Jack Lewis' Obituary
THOMAS JACK LEWIS Thomas Jackie Lewis, age 79, was born on April 24, 1931 and passed away Sunday, January 30, 2011 after an extended battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born in Bixby, OK to John and Lois Lewis who, along with his three brothers, preceded him in death. His desire was to live to 80, but God wanted one more smiling face sooner. He grew up in the farming community of Boynton, Oklahoma and after the family moved to Tulsa, attended Will Rogers High School. In 1949, he joined the army and served in Korea as a PFC Radio Relay Operator. Jack was the owner of Eastside Mowers, Jack Lewis Motors, Eastside Pawn Shop and later Heartland Auto Auction. Jack was a 'TRADER'. He is survived by wife Verna of 55 years; children and their spouses, Ralph and Paula Gray, Kurt & Linda Lewis, Kyle & Carma Lewis, and Craig & Debbie Mosquito, grandchildren and spouses, Tony Gray, Reagan & Casey Gray, Ryan & Ashley Lewis, Tyler & Ashli Lewis, Vanessa Williams, Austin Lewis, Colby Williams, Jacob & Misty Mosquito, Shanh-Dea & Anthony McIntosh, Jarod & Tyesha Mosquito, Jayce Mosquito, and several great-grandchildren. Jack was a charter member of Garnett Church of Christ and currently a member of the 29th and Yale Church of Christ. Jack was a lifetime member of the Southeast Tulsa and Catoosa Sertoma Clubs. Jack was a devoted, graceful and joyful man always with a smile. Big boots, big heart and big hero to many. He was a wonderful example of a decent person, a good man, and a loving father. He leaves behind family and many good friends. Arrangements are entrusted to Floral Haven Funeral Home, 6500 South 129th East Avenue, Tulsa, OK. Visitation is from 10 AM – 9 PM on Friday, February 4 with the family receiving visitors from 6 ' 8 PM. The funeral will be held Saturday, February 5 at 10 AM at Floral Haven Chapel, In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Contact Church of Christ, 1529 W. 49th St., Tulsa, OK 74107 or St. Francis Hospice, 6600 S.
