Thomas Joe Pitts' Obituary
Thomas Joe Pitts, 71 of Tulsa, passed away peacefully at home on December 27, 2018 with family by his side.Thomas was born in Livermore, California on October 18, 1947 to Betty Jo Pitts. He grew up in Tulsa and at the age of 18 Thomas entered the Navy and served 4 years with several tours in Vietnam.Thomas, also known as “Pops”, was rough around the edges but had a heart of gold. He always had a joke to tell, was full of B.S., loved to raise hell, always the life of the party, an awesome dad and a true friend to the end. He was known as Bull Dog in the contruction world where he was a foreman before his working days ended. For many years Thom was dependent on other people, which was hard for someone who was alway on the go and a doer, but he stayed strong and learned how to accept help instead of give (not always graciously). But not an easy task for anyone. He was a great parent partner and I feel blessed to have shared all the ups and downs of life with him. A more loving father you will never meet.He is survived by Thomas Dillon Pitts (son), Adam Forrester (step-son), Danny Pitts (brother) Terry & Corinne Pitts (brother & sister-in-law), Alice Pitts (parent partner/friend), eight nieces, seven nephews, numerous great neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jo Pitts and his father, Wilburn Lee Pitts.Services are planned for Thursday, January 10th at 2:00 pm at the Floral Haven Rose Chapel.
